A three-week (July 2 - 22, 2017) summer program in exciting and historic Lviv that offers unique opportunities:
* discover the true “secrets” behind traditional, medieval Ukrainian iconography;* learn how to use authentic medieval techniques and style of iconography in your own painting;
* experience the richness of the Byzantine liturgy in the community of the Ukrainian Catholic University;
* visit numerous sacred sites and monuments of the Ukrainian Church.
The program (six days/week) which will be conducted in English includes: theoretical classes in the Theology of Icons (mornings); practical iconography hands-on workshops (afternoons); and study trips to iconography museums and monuments of Church art including ancient churches and other historical sites.
Upon successful completion of academic requirements, students can receive internationally recognized academic credits (ECTS).
The Summer School will be held at the modern Khutorivka Campus in the academic building which houses the Theology Faculty at the Ukrainian Catholic University, Lviv, Ukraine.
